Overview

This policy explains what personal information LNDLI collects when you use our peer-to-peer rental marketplace, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect only what we need to operate the Service and to keep your data safe.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text) when you sign up. Optional: profile photo and location.

Listings: Item details, photos, pricing, availability, and pickup details that you choose to publish.

Booking & rental data: Dates, prices, messages between you and counterparties, reviews, and any handoff/return photos you upload as proof.

Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials on our servers. We store a Stripe customer ID and a record of each transaction.

Communications: Messages you send to other users through LNDLI, and emails we send you (welcome, booking notifications, password reset, etc.).

Usage data: Basic device, browser, and access-log information collected automatically when you use the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the Service (showing listings, processing bookings, sending notifications)
  • To process payments via Stripe and pay out earnings to Owners
  • To enforce our Terms and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To communicate with you about your account or important Service updates
  • To improve the Service based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share data only with service providers we need to operate LNDLI ("subprocessors"):

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
  • Stripe — payment processing, payouts, fraud detection
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery

Each subprocessor receives only the data they need to perform their function and is contractually required to protect it.

We may share other users' basic information (name, listings, reviews) with you in the normal course of using the Service — for example, the Owner's name when you book their item.

We will disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order) or to protect the safety of users.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account and rental history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes).

5. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access and update your profile information at any time via your profile page
  • Delete your account by emailing support@lndli.com
  • Export a copy of your data on request
  • Opt out of non-essential emails (we'll always send essential transactional emails like password resets and booking notifications)

If you are located in California, the EU, or another region with specific privacy rights, you may have additional rights under local law (CCPA, GDPR, etc.). Contact us to exercise them.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, row-level security on our database, tokenized payments via Stripe, and limited employee access. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us at support@lndli.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Children

LNDLI is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
